Tasks

- Diagnose layer 2 and layer 3 incidents using Wireshark, ping, traceroute, and vendor CLI tools within agreed SLA windows
- Monitor network performance metrics (bandwidth, latency, packet loss) through Zabbix or SolarWinds dashboards
- Update firewall rules and ACLs on Fortinet and Palo Alto appliances under change management procedures
- Install and terminate Cat6/fiber cabling, validating connectivity with Fluke network testers
- Configure VLANs, STP, LACP, and inter-VLAN routing on managed switches to segment traffic
- Set up and maintain VPN tunnels (IPsec, SSL) for remote site and user connectivity
- Document network topologies, IP address plans, and configuration changes in CMDB and Confluence wikis
- Coordinate with ISPs to report and track circuit outages, aiming for restoration within defined RTO thresholds
- Conduct scheduled firmware upgrades on network devices during maintenance windows with rollback plans
- Provide tier-2 support to helpdesk teams, resolving escalated connectivity tickets within a 4-hour SLA
